The first Finnish 2-euro commemorative coin of 2024

Proof quality – mintage only 4,800 coins!

This 2024 commemorative coin highlights the importance of free elections as the foundation of democracy. The universal and equal right to vote has provided us, the people of Finland, with the prerequisites to influence social decision-making for more than 100 years.

The community-based support structure consisting of stylised ballots on the obverse side of the coin symbolizes democracy, i.e. the power of the people. The illustrative theme was designed by artist Hannu Jasoni Veijalainen.

The proof coins favoured by collectors are minted individually, with the highest quality stamps. Many special work stages as well as manual labour are included in their manufacture. The coins are distinguished by their glass-like background, creating a beautiful foundation for the matte illustration.
